COMICS TO READ FOR JUNE 17, 2015

portrait_incredibleOLD MAN LOGAN #2

I really enjoyed the first issue and felt it is the standout of Marvel’s Secret Wars line.

Issue is just as strong as the last, and continues right where the first issue left off.  The art by Andrea Sorrentino is brilliant, and again Brian Michael Bendis is taking us on quite a new and interesting journey with Logan.

It is this week’s must read!

“BLUSTERING BEAVERTAILS”  I put this in for picking up because it screams Canadiana – from our hero ‘Tom Evans’ politeness to his apologetic nature towards his opponent.  It’s definitely a fun read.

JlasmallJUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #1

Bryan Hitch is bringing us a new JLA title.  This roster includes the same DC big guns in a new story. It is a double-sized issue so the price is higher at $5.99.  The lead-in kept me interested in the whole book, as our heroes take on a new alien race headed to Earth. Now, also because it’s a number one, you also have your choice of getting one of seven variant covers, each cover spotlighting a JLA member, or you can pick up the Joker 75th anniversary cover or, even better, the seven page fold out cover which puts all the seven singles into one huge fold out.

PICKED IT UP ANYWAYS:

ROBIN_SON_1_54fdfe5815b287.56402866ROBIN: SON OF BATMAN #1

The main reason I am including this comic, is because if you buy it, FREE SWAG (as long as your comic shop has some left).  Robin (Damian) is in his own standalone comic.  And if you get this comic, DC is including a free Robin masks.  I really wasn’t into the story right from the beginning, so I just didn’t enjoy this one.
