JUSTICE LEAGUE #42

Written by Geoff Johns and art by Jason Fabok. The Darkseid War continues with part two.  The first couple of pages help set up what is fuelling Darkseid’s desire to start his war with gods, but the crap hits the fan in the last few pages, which makes this comic exciting to read. As Metron tries to save the Justice League, what happens next will have you eagerly anticipating issue #3, as Batman learns the The Joker’s biggest secret!

ANT-MAN ANNUAL #1

Written by Nick Spencer.  As we get ready for the Ant-Man movie which comes out this week, this annual is a nice refresher to the events that lead Scott Lang to getting the suit.  This comic has Hank Pym and Scott Lang team-up to take on a character he have not seen (and presumed dead) since classic Avengers #229 (1983) Egghead!!

BATMAN TP: SECOND CHANCES

Today also saw the release of the Batman Trade Paperback- Second Chances.

This collects BATMAN #402-403, #408-416 and BATMAN ANNUAL #11

Which is the introduction of Jason Todd and the stories of his origin and journey to becoming the second Robin.  This is a good read, as with the use of The Red Hood (it case you don’t know, Jason Todd is Red Hood) in a lot of Batman features recently (video games, DC animated movies, comics) it can give readers the chance to read how Dick Grayson leaves his mantle as the first Robin and how Jason Todd enters the DC universe.
